I Am Singing
We want to make videos of me singing!
My birthday celebration last year was a big one. I sang the four parts of the chorus song Boku no Koto (「僕のこと」) by Mrs. Green Apple, and made a pitch bar visualisation of the notes sung by each part generated completely using Python. No screen recording, video editing or generative AI was required. I showed it to the cubs at the coding club I helped and they were more than surprised that Python.
After that, I’ve tried making more videos like that one. But soon I started to run out of ideas. On one hand, I’ve always been drawing waveforms, spectra or pitch bars. I wonder if there are other options, or rather, other perspectives on a piece of audio. On the other hand, while I think my maths is good enough 🤓, making a cool visualisation sometimes requires maths that... don’t make much sense. One example is the arbitrary choice of frequency and phase in a sine wave to create noise 1.
At this point I think there are at least two things I can do:
Look for new audio features to draw
Learn new ways to draw the data
